Anyone watch this?
Plussed it on the offchance (since non US foreign shows shown here tend to be top quality) and the first episode is certainly living up to the standards of Spiral and Romanzo Crimiale.

Watched the first two episodes. Wow, it's pretty intense. More Gallic quality programming for sure.

Has it been dubbed in english or just subtitles?
Subtitles. I can't stand dubbed stuff.

I think I might have to agree. I didn't think the pace of the first two could be kept up, but blimey, it's a rip-roaring story, still not let up.

You don't need to tell me to stick with it, don't think I've seen a programme move at this pace and keep common sense and quality for a while.

Well watched them all now, I saved up the last three to watch in a row, glad I did.
I love this show for it being the opposite of The Wire (which I also love), just a breakneck pace from start to finish.
The next series should be ace.

Sacre Bleu!!!

What an amazing piece of television, raw & gritty, just how it should be, TBH it pisses all over The Wire.
It's basically a French Sweeney, with lots more guns, smoking, violence, more smoking, and a touch more violence!
shoot
I agree with the first statement most definitely, but the second is ridiculous, chalk and cheese. They are both kings in their field, but they are very different fields. It pisses over the Sweeney more likebiggrin I think the length of the series at 8 is correct. I did get a bit of a wobble in the last ep with the stories all linking in, but it didn't go silly, which I was happy at.

As I think of the Wire and Braquo, I genuinely struggle to see British quality of the same in the last ten years. Zen was good but three episodes long, same with Whitechapel. I guess our budget restricts us to mini-serials.

Yes, sorry about that, I'd just watched about 4 hrs worth in one go and got a little too excited! wobble I'm not dissing The Wire, I loved it at the time, it's just that Braquo was so refreshing for being so direct & fast moving.
I'm looking for season 2 as we speak now!
I agree. I have been watching slow burning long serials recently, they all are. Made me forget about fast paced stuff, then wham, Braquo comes along and shows how it is done, probably even rewrites a few rules.
I know what you mean about excited, makes me want to go out and drive a Cayenne into a hole in the wall and nick it whilst shooting my pump action shotgun at the baddies! Like being a kid againbiggrin

It's back 29th of April.
Perhaps the best show (after GoT) on telly this year.

Really large gap between '29th April 2012' and now, and that was the UK broadcast time too.
Wonder what happened.

I would have liked a rerun of the previous series, just to remind me of what went on.

I got the same suggestion. Daddy Pig obviously has a secret life we don't yet know about.
It's the overriding arc of Peppa Pig, like Breaking Bad.
