All you fans of Skandyhooly noir, this is on again tonight, eps 3 & 4. Murder investigation involving a dismembered torso placed exactly half & half on the Swede/Danish border, leading to the pairing up of odd couple coppers. Not unlike the Killing & just as good to watch.

Stefan the social worker? He does look like a porn star. I'm wondering how Goran's wife fits in personally..?

My recorder crapped out just as the doorbell was ringing with the homeless girl whassername? So no spoilers, since I'll have to do the rest of the episode on Iplayer.

Sweet. There's something not right about that guy in the flat either, banging on about assignments & fasting. Is he our man I wonder?

O/T I can highly recommend Headhunters - Norwegian black comedy. No spoilers, but well worth a look if you get the chance.

I've seen both & for me the original is vastly superior in characterisation, feel & look. But it's a subjective thing, someone will be along to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, but personally I would stick with the Danish version all day long.

There's definitely a strong run of Skandiweegie excellence about these last few years. Did anyone get into Borgen? Is it any good?

Soooo, any takers for a guess at the murderer? Turns out Jesper & the ginge are dodgy porno merchants, so that's a red herring. I'm stumped me.

Frida the ex? That would be interesting. Saga's asperger's is treated with a light touch & used to comedic effect, which balances out the tension a fair bit. One or two oh come off it! moments last weekend, notably Daniel Ferbê's death was a bit James Bond for me & when they start discussing how it might be a copper, they stick up pictures of various coppers, in an open office, with people wandering in & out!

Minor quibbles though. Really enjoying this show.

Ok, I reckon Sebastian is Jens is Frida is the TT. That is my guess & if they drop a new character in tonight as the killer, I will be frothing at the mouth like never before yes

It's all the same faces in those you've mentioned... they are all unbelievable rubbish as a result.
Well, if you watched closely, you would have seen Vagn Skaerbek in the Bridge as well as Lennart Brix & one of the actors from the Killing was in Borgen too. So it goes around, but the point about the quality of the drama is spot on. I don't bother with British drama much anymore. The last decenty thng I recall was House of cards. hehe

^^That. Plus you have to suspend your disbelief repeatedly. It's easy to pick holes all the way along. The one that tickled me most was the pics of suspect cops plastered on the glass wall of the police station with coppers coming & going left right & centre.

For me, the win in this run of skandyhooly drama is in the noir feel, the exquisite characterisation - particularly in the first season of The Killing & particularly in the study of grief & it's corrosive effects and the twisty plots.

It would miss the thrust to me to look at it & declare it unrealistic.

Church scene throws me off the Jewish angle, keeping it in the family and all, but fair enough. One of those points I was left thinking, wah?

Now you mention it Dave, I think you're right. Well, here's to the next Scandy import. Must be about time for the killing III?
