Best Blackadder series?

So what's your favourite Blackadder?

For me it has to be Blackadder the Third with Hugh Laurie simply brilliant as the Prince Regent.

Shocking to think it was 30 years ago that Blackadder first appeared, where does the time go?

Had to look Peter Cook up, as I couldn't remember him being in it at all, it was just one episode, so my memory isn't failing as much as I first thought.

Without looking it up, does anybody know if Blackadder a hit with American audiences, as it seems just so British I wonder if it could succeeed anywhere else?
