Netflix - What gems have you found?
Discussion
Thought it might be good to start a thread on what good stuff is on Netflix at the moment. I know there's the 'Good Films I Watched This Weekend' thread, but would be great to know what good stuff people are finding specifically on Netflix.
I subscribe to unblock-us.com so for less than a tenner a month can access all content in all Netflix countries (that includes Netflix subscription) there's so much on there and so many gems that don't necessarily come up in the listings, so come on, what good stuff have you found recently?
I'll start off with 'The Intouchables' on USA region, a fantastic feel-good film, very funny, very touching, and probably the best thing I've seen in ages.
'Into The Wild' on pretty much every region, again, very thought provoking, as was 'Hotel Rwanda' on the Scandinavian regions.
And to take me back to my younger years, every episode of Diffrent Strokes on Canada region, and all Fresh Prince of Bel Air episodes on Brazil / Mexico. If only they'd show Alf, I'd be a happy boy

I really enjoyed this film The Hunter recently. Willem Dafoe running about in Tasmania searching for the Tasmanian tiger:

Lovely scenerey, good acting. Helps if you have a passing interest in wildlife/man-made extinctions/rare animals but having said that my girlfriend enjoyed it too and she knows feck all about those kind of things

Slightly off topic if you use Hola unblocker plugin in chrome you can watch US stuff without paying for a third party site.I subscribe to unblock-us.com so for less than a tenner a month can access all content in all Netflix countries (that includes Netflix subscription) there's so much on there and so many gems that don't necessarily come up in the listings, so come on, what good stuff have you found recently?

I love Netflix especially now I have an unblocker meaning I can access the US version on a Mac (not sure you can hack the Tevo version on Virgin Media at the mo). I am currently 3/4 though watching the entire Star Trek Next Gen then its Voyager and Enterprise.
I have finally managed to get the US version on my ipad 4g but it involves using a VPN which is not free. I am using the Hide my Ass app and so far its been faultless.

Breaking Bad made me subscribe to Netflix. My daughter (14) suggested that I try the IT Crowd. It's brilliant and the other day I stumbled across "The Final Countdown" where 1980s USS Nimitz ends up at the eve of Pearl Harbour back in WW2 with Kirk Douglas at the helm. Cheesy yet enjoyable with loads of real action fighter planes flying and performing carrier landings and take offs.
Am a bit disappointed with content on Netflix tbh. I us the US Netflix and although it's got more than the UK, it's still not that good for popular films.
Loads and loads to browse through, though if I've ever searched for something specific, guaranteed it's not there.
Just searching on UK site...
Brad Pitt - 4 films
Al Pacino - 11 films
Adam Sandler - 8 films
Will Smith - 3 films
Matt Damon - 8 films
And not many of those are blockbusters.
I like Netflix and recommend it but I think if it's going to really grow it needs to get bigger and better films a lot quicker.
