Name the show from these clues

Loud mouth Londoner?

Finds down and out motors?

Fixes them up?

no it's not Wheeler Dealers

it is

...

New show on Channel 4 starring the bloke from Life on Mars "fire up the quattro" etc

http://www.channel4.com/programmes/for-the-love-of...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyPn6BTCoto

From the trailer it seems they've just robbed the format from Wheeler Dealers and decided nobody that watches Channel 4 watches it.

I'm willing to give it a go but they seem to have done nothing different except find cars in a barn

Was expecting a bit more of the mechanical side of things.

Seemed about 90% history of Ford Escort and about 10% restoration.

But as a car history lesson i thought it was pretty good

IS that it in that auction ? Coys website says it went for £23,600.

How much does that engine build cost I wonder?!?!
Good buy for someone in todays market!
Certainly looks like it. I guess the "modified" element means it's nowhere near as attractive as a mint original spec car (even if it is trigger's broom).
bloody hell at the price of that DeLorean

eekeek £48k eekeek

I see the odd DMC going through the auctions and even in mint condition they usually never get above £20k

Some motoring writer (possibly Quentin Willson?) once bemoaned the fact that 'Back To The Future' has elevated DeLoreans way above the level they deserve - he said they were horrible things.
Oh they are bloody awful. I've driven a fire engine which had lighter steering and better ride.

I doubt Ant (one of the UK's best mechanics allegedly) has much to do with it either. Apart from the 'man with spanner' and 'man welding' shots obviously.
Edd China is probably the best all round mechanic in the UK

They said they bought the car from some place a few miles outside Belfast.

Then I noticed the paddy plates and signs Drogheda.

At least 100 miles away beside Dublin

I've been in a few Delorean and also driven a Dennis Fire engine.

Guess which had the lightest steering

£40k for a Delorean is vastly overpriced.

I saw one in near mint condition go up at Wilsons last year and it just made it to £18k

I think with RM and Coys the people bidding the top money are just so loaded they don't care.

I'd go as far as saying that they would happily bid a few grand more just to stop someone else getting it.

I believe it's known as "plonking your big balls in the auction"

The DeLorean was RHD, that's going to affect things, they bought it in the first place for £23k.
You can get a decent Delorean in the US for around £10-£20k, ship it over for £2k

spend about £5k swapping it to RHD and giving it a decent going over

Stick it into Coys and make yourself £12-15k profit
