I don't necessarily think that it's the breaks for adverts which are the problem on the commercial channels, but the constant re-capping immediately following them. Wheeler Dealers is bad for this, as are most programmes on satellite TV, though apparently Mike Brewer explained it by saying it's primarily designed for the US audience.
