Just watching this now.

Just had a local road of mine on, the A18 at Grimsby and the fatal crash that happened on it with an entire family being lost.

Watching it was almost amusing though since the ones interviewed all said, it's a twisty and narrow shortcut for HGVs between the A16 and the A180 and the road has poor surface issues. Speed can be an issue, but most accidents aren't attributed to just speed. Unsighted bends, people unaware of the road direction and height differences, hitting pot holes and clipping the verges etc. There solution suggestions seems to be better signage and more of it, maybe electronic signs, crash barriers on some of the more sharper and unsighted bends and just better maintenance of it All really good suggestions I thought.

But, our local council's solution? Blanket 50mph average speed camera limit for the whole A18 (and all dual cariageways in Grimsby too).

Brilliant! rolleyes
