There are far too many bad ones out there.... So any recommendations of some which are actually a good watch?
Preferably something modern-ish, I've watched most of the classics.

Cheers!

Thanks for the suggestions so far. a few I've seen, but a few to look into!

Just so happens I bought 'It Follows' the other day, but haven't watched it yet... Was looking at another to watch after.
Yea, it's not my favourite genre either, but good now and again if you can find something decent!

Enjoyed the woman in black, I didn't think I would because Radcliffe tends to annoy me, but was very good. I just saw there is a Woman in Black 2, but that seems to have terrible reviews.

Good to see so many suggestions....

In the end, I watched 'It Follows' and tbh I was totally underwhelmed. I'm not sure why it has good reviews, to me it was a low budget, poor storyline, badly acted film that never really got going.
Nevermind!

I then re-watched The Woman in Black, then followed up with Sinister.
Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for a horror as neither of these particularly did it for me either - Sinister was the best of the 3 though.

Will try some of the other suggestions soon!

Did you watch it on a small screen with headphones? I don't want to come across as condescending but it's quite a smart film in the way it uses subtle background queues rather than being more obvious than a typical jump scare film. I don't know whether it was placebo or not but I'm pretty sure it was using infrasound also - a bit like the beginning of Irreversible - which would be lost on smaller speakers / headphones adding to the tone, tension and build up.

However, because it relies a lot on tension, if it doesn't grab you then it has nothing to build on.

Each to their own and all though squire!
Nope, bluray, 1080 on a UHD 60inch screen with 5:1 surround.... Just didn't entertain me! Maybe I was having an off night....

Someone just mentioned the original paranormal activity... Yea I enjoyed that too, havn't seen it in years so might be due a re-watch!
