I've been semi-binge watching Alpha House, American political comedy starring John Goodman among others. Excellent stuff, and some good looking women in it too, which is always welcome.

I'm on episode 6, and can't decide whether to watch any more, it's a bit st.
I know exactly what you mean, only watched 3 episodes so far, but we need something to watch for a while after supper and it's that or find something else.

Completely given up with Hand of God, it's not a bit st, it's utter wk.
Interesting how tastes can vary so much. I've decided I like it .

I start from the premise that everything on TV is basically nonsense, so for me quite often it's not about the believability so much as other factors which aren't so easy to define.

Funny that, I didn't make it through the first episode of Sons of Anarchy.

Sneaky Pete is excellent, and the story develops very nicely over the 10 episodes. Bryan Cranston is menacingly good.

Also watched Black Sails recently - most enjoyable series. An x-rated Pirates of the Caribbean, with some excellent acting by the main players.
I really enjoyed Black Sails, definitely recommend it.

Enjoying Sneaky Pete so far too smile
I started Sneaky Pete but had the feeling it was going to be 10 episodes of him almost but not quite being caught out on his memories with the grandparents.
You are spot on.

I have given up with it after 5 episode.
Me too. Nothing much happening, episodes are almost interchangeable.

Thoroughly recommend " Hand of God " , starring Ron Perlman , if you haven't seen it.
Loved the 1st series and so glad to see the 2nd series appear this month. Currently halfway through it and it doesn't disappoint .
That's good news. I'll be watching that. I really like the first series although apparently a lot of people didn't.

Patriot. We thought we would give it a try, expected the usual spy type stuff.

It's one of the funniest things I've seen recently, though the humour is quite dark and not always obvious (which is how I like it).

Give it a go, it's really good.

Yup, was so glad they made the series after enjoying the pilot and devoured it over 3 nights.

This, along with The Bureau, Goliath, Bosch and Red Oaks are my favourites on Amazon.
My wife has admitted (after 5 episodes) to not really liking it. This usually means I'm on the right tracksmile.

Only 2 episodes in, but I can't say I'm very impressed with the 3rd season of Bosch so far.

I'll stick with it, but I'd be interested in anyone else's opinion...
I binged watched it over 2 days and found it good.

Ive tried to give Hand of God a go and finding it tedious after 2 episodes
OTOH I didn't manage to get through the first episode of Bosch, the renegade but brilliant detective thing has been done to double death and back again.

The film Interstellar. Have just watched the first hour and a bit, will watch the rest this evening. Too early to say whether I really like it, but I'm still watching it which is usually a good sign smile

Finished "Patriot" last night.. I thought it was absolutely terrific.. darkly comic in a similar way to Breaking Bad.. again with an underlying melancholy to it. Some real laugh out loud moments. The female detective character is absolutely gorgeous and the soundtrack is great (also free to download on Prime Music). Hope Season 2 gets made.
I was particularly taken with the beautiful photography and the way each scene was so carefully set up.

We sampled American Gods not knowing what to expect. I'm glad we did, not only is it utterly unpredictable, but the effects are superb and it's worth watching just for the lighting and photography. On the highest level of TV as far as I am concerned.

Sneaky Pete season 2 is absolutely superb. Really.
Yup, totally agree. Enjoyed it just as much as the first one.

I have also been watching unReal, another series chosen entirely at random. On reading the imdb synopsis "A behind-the-scenes look at the chaos surrounding the production of a dating competition program.", I wasn't sure I'd like it but, I ended up bingeing the first 6 episodes in an afternoon!

Plenty of eye candy too :-)
I watched a few episodes of the first series of Sneaky Pete and in the end stopped, when it dawned on me that I wasn't enjoying it. Main reason, nothing much happened (apart from Bryan Cranston indulging himself with a long and quite unnecessary monologue).

I tried the first episode of Absentia, nearly made it to the end but there came a point when it just became too absurd.

They were awesome. Can't wait for Season 2. thumbup
just finished it, love The Tick!
I liked it too. Some of the dialogue is really clever, the sort of thing a lot of younger viewers would miss.

I'm sure there will be lots of websites tracking the new stuff on Amazon Prime and Netflix but this one came up on my twitter recently listing new films added

Out of that lot I know Marathon Man is pretty good.

"Is it safe?" is one of the phrases my wife and I use (though in our case it refers to something different).
