He's a petrol head, so could be quite a good addition.

Could be amusing if nothing else.. I think the problem TopGear have is that Clarkson, Hammond and May weren't put together to try and replicate something previous. The chemistry between those three guys was golden 'luck' and is a rare find.
Now the guys have gone, they are trying to recreate the show and almost trying to construct chemistry. It's a big challenge for the Beeb.
I'll give it a watch though.

This is desperate. My assessment of the situation when Chris Evans took over is that he would twist and turn at a whim, push every gimmick that takes his interest and have no clear direction.
Nuff said.
Matt LeBlanc - he's a good guy but has zero experience in factual TV presenting. This sounds like one of those 'wouldn't it be good if....' decisions that came out during a brainstorming session and no-one had the nerve (or the experience to say) 'nice idea, but...'.
ETA. Apparently he already did a one-off special for TG. I'll need to look it out, but fans and critics' assessment alike suggest that it was not very good...
