Intrigued by what people actually wanted from new Top Gear, would anything or anyone have been 'right'?

I think people forget that the Clarkson/May/Hammond still have a show on the way as well.

Presumably EJ is still no slouch behind the wheel and he brings an incredible number of contacts and access by default. I struggle to see how he fits, but then we don't know the format yet, but one thing he will do is open an awful lot of doors.
