New era movie cars
Discussion
So I just stumbled across this advert whilst doing some coffee break searching at work:

In my opinion I wouldn't really call this a movie icon, although being in my early 20's i'm big fan of the F&F films!. Following on from the sale of Paul Walkers Skyline earlier this year I was wondering what peoples opinions are on this? Would people say there any actually any 'Iconic' cars from post 2000 films?

I suspect it's more a lack of iconic cars in total in recent times.
Everything is so much more mass market these days, more commercial and more marketing driven. And the world is so much smaller too.
Nice cars are obviously still available. But I doubt we will get anything iconic like the classic Mini, E-Type, Model T, original Mustang.
There is also a much richer choice these days too, so it dilutes the experience and specialness that used to be associated with cars years ago.
In film this is worse, as there is so much product placement, and because there is less desire and celebration of the vehicles, it makes it much harder to make them iconic, unless they are a classic of some kind.
Dukes of Hazzard, The A-Team, Knightrider, James Bond, Bullet, Smokey and the Bandit the cars where as much the stars as the actors.
Can't see that being the case with anything these days.

That advert is comedy gold.....the actual car that did this, that and the other on screen.
Is it bks. Film action cars are stripped out and held together with gaffer tape, polished to within an inch of their life for a take, then chucked to one side to make way for the next storyboard.

From a quick glance at the ad, standard brakes, cheap bolt in roll cage, nasty chopped to bits interior. Anyone paying anyway near the asking price is an idiot. Is it bks.
