Interesting we talk about the 'care' system. I worked with a very decent woman who was going through hell with her 14 yr old daughter. The parents would try to stop the girl hanging out with drunks and druggies and going out partying with much older guys. So the girl would put herself into 'care' as she knew that the care homes couldn't stop her getting out at night.

This was a good family who were just broken by their daughter's actions. They tried everything from persuasion, to reward, to punishment, to utter despair...

My wife is a teacher. She's a really conscientous teacher who works evenings and holidays to give the kids the best shot. The number of times she's been in tears due to some parent who has castigated her for some off the wall shyte is unreal. Particularly the posh school she taught at, every parent was either an amateur psychologist or had read half the teaching manuals out there and felt they were better qualified then her.

Not all being linked to race or religion, but 54 gangs means a lot of children being passed around and raped by an awful lot of men on a regular basis. That's only the gangs that are recognised, so the real figure could be much, much more.

People in those close-knit communities knew. I'm utterly convinced they did, and at very least turned a blind eye. Any other view is stunningly fking naive.

Many of these girls were little kids of 11 and 12. They were not 18 or 19 and 'possibly' someone with a car's legitimate girlfriend and over age of consent. These guys were moving CHILDREN around, CHILDREN of a different colour/shade/creed. CHILDREN that would stand out. Young kids with groups of much older men.
