Wow, originally trying to charge £95 return journey from Limehouse.

They have now dropped the price down to £20.

Apparently the cost for building the boats was £3million.

Someone is taking a big kick in the nuts with this.

I've read they've had £300k of public money, but can't find a good source.
I think that some of that money came from British Waterways to pay for the pontoons to be put into Limehouse Basin.
As far as i know that info is correct.

What is disturbing is that £300k had been earmarked for a new Canoe and cafe centre at Stonehouse, Tottenham but was diverted to this failed venture.

It's ironic that, given they haven't paid any of their staff, one of the diectors of Water Chariots Ltd is also a director of Global Enforcement Solutions; http://www.globalenforcementsolutions.co.uk/

I have also heard quite substantial rumours that a number of the employed boat crews have not been paid as well.

I may have more info on this in time.

I am a Canal dweller on the River lea so have taken quite a bit of notice in all of this and there is another discussion here :-

http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtop...

If you read the thread, someone from Water Chariots actually chimed in with some info.....draw your own conclusions on it all.
