Just on the news. Apparently they have been overcharging for tagging.

Which is worse - the public sector running things or the public sector paying the private sector to run things?

The problem is that the whole point of these privatisations is to ostensibly reduce government costs. By putting the costs into the private sector, that should allow the relevant government department or agency to be reduced in size or even abolished.

Therefore, there may not be an adequate number of government employees available to oversee the private sectors management of the service.
