Mods can you combine the two threads please.
I don't care which one you make the lead thread, both started within minutes.

My goodness.

All the low life's with no manners & no respect are in this thread tonight! frown
Yes it actually made me regret starting the thread.

Thanks to kinky for the work in clearing it up.

Ran into her when she was flirting with going to uni. Other than that no connection.

My own daughter is almost the same age. She hasn't gone short of hugs and being told we love her ever. Even when it's those troubled times that mean as a parent you find it hard to like your own child. She will get an extra big hug next time we see her.

One feels for the family and especially the kids.

Not just in Ireland - I remember at my gran's funeral in 1975 as the cortege made its way to the cemetery, men taking their hats off as we passed, something that's stayed with me ever since. Nowadays of course men don't really wear hats (unless you count baseball caps).
This is something that I always do when I see a funeral cortege. (I am a baseball cap wearer.)

It was initiated by an old gentleman who removed his cap as my father's cortege passed by him and I now pass on the respect that he showed my Dad to others.

This being PH, it probably makes me a weak, sentimental wimp.
Not at all it shows you are a dignified and respectful human being, long may it continue.

There is nothing wrong with showing respect to the deceased.
clap Never over taken a hearse for the same reasons. Don't get me wrong it nearly killed me doing 50 MPH on the A5 all the way from Shrewsbury to Telford once but a little respect hurts no one.
You might be taking things a little far there. There's nothing disrespectful about overtaking a hearse per se. Leapfrogging your way along a funeral cortege is a different matter but in general hearses are just part of the traffic.
Nope I'm with DaveST220 on this. Never overtaken a hearse that is part of a cortege and will continue to assist the cortege to keep in contact and intact.

I was 12 and remember the people standing at the kerb for my Dad. They didn't know us. We didn't know them. A lesson in respect to stand for a lifetime.

May I most sincerely apologise to the entire PH community for starting this thread. If there had been the slightest inkling of just what woodlice would come creeping out from the forum skirting boards then the thread would not have been started.

I am out.
