He's clearly never heard of Godwin's Law either.

he was referring to how nazi germany started.

will he never learn - 41 engagements in 3 days and trying to relate and comfort a woman in a private conversation who had lost relatives - i mean what an arse...
That's not how I read it.

Charles meets woman who lost family in the Holocaust and states Putin is now doing the same in Ukraine, which would seem to be overstepping the mark and not actually true.

the great thing about the royals is they dont have to pander to politics and can say it as it is..
I'd prefer it if they didn't - can't imagine the Queen doing anything like this.

Private conversation mentioned to the press. Press looking for something to be outraged at. His critics are polishing the pitch forks just in case they can brandish them in outrage and look wronged.

woopee
How is it a private conversation, he was talking to a member of the public, not chatting with friends.

And at a public engagement.
Exactly.

I think the ludicrous comparison with Hitler will be doing Putin more of a favour.

Had Hitler when he began taking territory?
So Putin is being judged on what he might do, a bit odd really.

But it's not ludicrous. Putin's tactics on the Ukraine mirror those of the Nazis in the Sudetenland and elsewhere. Get down to your library and read some history.
Unlike Hitler Putin is re-occupying land that was Russian until about 20 years ago.

I still don't see the comparison frankly.

Bluebarge,

Crimea was part of Russia (together with the rest of Ukraine) until 1991. So the statement of 'about 20 years ago.' is correct.
No, it was part of Russia from the late 18th century until 1954, when it was transferred to the Ukraine. Ukraine and Russia were both parts of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics until 1991. the USSR and Russia are, and never were, the same thing.
Same difference.

If Charles should stood for parliament, would he lose his deposit?
Most definitely. Even fans of the royals hate Charles.

Irrelevant. You're comparing a figurehead and a dictator.
Charles clearly sees himself as more than a figurehead, that's the problem.
