I know this stuff is for local consumption; however, they have to realize the world sees their rhetoric, one thinks they would try to make it less preposterous.

Have N.Korea ever actually fought anyone in real life?
South Korea + United Nations forces from the UK, Australia, USA, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Ethiopia, France, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, South Africa, Thailand and Turkey.

They were never beaten and the Korean War has never ended.

So you can see they have a rather self inflated ego of invincibility.
Only with China coming from next door and sending cannon fodder.

Ok yes I did actually mean within the last 50 years or so using modern technology. Wouldn't a few well placed precision air strikes pretty much instantly cripple them if needs be?
They have a huge army and one that would not rely on transport to get south I think. I am no military expert but few strikes I think would not scratch the surface if they started south. I just hope they have not found a way to dig any more tunnels without being detected.
If they started south, I believe they would push well across the border. However, and army moves on logistics, which they do not have, so they would stall quickly. This would be mainly an air war. Encircle and pin down their main units, cut off any support coming from the north and begin attriting them from the sky. They would stall in 2-3 days and be remnants within 1-2 weeks.

"At around 8.30 pm on 23 April, the forward companies of the Glosters were withdrawn from their positions after suffering heavy casualties. Apart from A and D Companies, C Company, under Major Paul Mitchell, retreated as well, but because of enemy pressure it was impossible for B Company, under Major Denis Harding, to disengage and join the battalion's remaining elements on and near Hill 235, a position between the Imjin and the Seolmacheon stream that became known as Gloster Hill. The men of B Company (including a young Lofty Large) were able to drive off seven Chinese assaults on their position before they were also able to withdraw to Hill 235 the next morning. Only 17 men of B Company remained in action after reaching the remainder of the battalion."

Nice read; thank you Sir.
