Police and Crime Commisioners Wow Just Wow
Discussion
Dead simple has there ever been a title more prone to controversy ?
In South Yorkshire Shaun Right refuses to go even though just about everyone is calling for him to do so after his Rotherham Social Services experiences.
In Lancashire they have a guy who was investigated for expenses irregularities.
Kent is stuck with Ann Barnes who seems completely deluded.
In Bedfordshire Olly Martins has been suspended from the Labour Party
The whole thing attracted sweet FA in the way of votes.
Has there ever been a role more mired in controversy in recent memory ?

The meeting, being held at Rotherham Town Hall, is expected to trigger a formal by-election process.
In the November 2012 South Yorkshire PCC election Mr Wright was elected with 51.35% of voters backing him. The turnout was 14.53%.
Public money it's a bottomless pit to be wasted

You keep believing it brother. But hey if that doesn't tally with your "research and your data " which will have a very narrow window applied to it then those opinions and experiences must be all wrong hey.
Mr La Liga
As it is clear you know best I totally defer to your judgement my own experiences and narrow mindedness should preclude me from having an opinion. I apologise for expressing such an opinion and rest assured that the police are wonderful and totally respected by all decent members of society. if you feel I should serve penitence by maybe washing the mud of the police cars tyres then do feel free to recommend as to where I should apply
You are a giant amongst posters and I feel unable to match you. I realise that the statistics you mention must completely mean that the police force is respected by all and sundry and that anyone who doesn't understand that is either a villain or a complete cretin.
Now whats your view on crime commissioners ?

I wouldn't normally have bothered responding to yet another of your posts but I found your discourtesy in the other thread to be a bit below the belt.
In fairness to LL, he's a great deal more polite than many others holding a similar position/POV.http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/news/crime/compl...
"
Fresh problems have rocked the office of Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner after his second in command was accused of misconduct.
The county’s highest ranking officer has filed a complaint over Deputy PCC Ibrahim Master’s involvement in an ongoing investigation.
The Gazette understands police spoke to him concerning allegations of harassment."

It's not giving away any secrets as it's all over social media but it appears that officers have (based on whatever information) been reminded of personal security this weekend and the fact their jobs makes them a specific target.
It's fifteen years ago but I've done single crewed response at night with minimal back up in a dodgy area. Several officers on my shift were injured enough to require retirement with an injury on duty. It's never good but at least you knew that you had some support if things went wrong.
Here's a letter from the Avon and Somerset PCC:

I would draw particular attention to this point about the lack of benefit to local people from these inconsiderate officers who get injured on duty.
"Therefore, at the moment the only reduction in annual IoD payments is when someone in receipt of an IoD dies. However as more officers leave the force with medical retirements this IoD annual cost continues to rise.
Hopefully this is of interest to you and I would welcome any thoughts that you may have as this is becoming a significant part of the budget that does not provide any servicers to the people of Avon & Somerset"
Not being rude but what was "15 years ago" I assume a large scale issue for the Police as you mention a letter but what event was itIt's fifteen years ago but I've done single crewed response at night with minimal back up in a dodgy area.
