It turns out racist remarks are ok if your famous or a pigeon (only kidding i know this was intended as a dig at the local MP's defection to UKIP).
Although destroyed i do feel this incident has raised two important issues, first the growing divisions and tensions between the various ethnic groups thanks mainly to councils around the country deliberately failing to integrate immigrants into wider communities, and secondly the knee-jerk reaction of councils at the slightest mention of racism in any form without properly investigating the matter.

I find people's attitude towards Banksy hilarious.

In this case i don't feel its just the vandalism, but also the message that was included. If i was to hold up a placard with the same message, how long would it take before i was arrested (with and without a pigeon costume) ?"Oh, you're welcome to come back an illegally deface public property once we know you're a famous 'artist'"
