Apparently the truck driver was trying to avoid an accident but didn't manage it frown

Recent reports suggest the loss of control followed from avoiding action in an incident immediately prior to the fatal crash.

Reports yesterday were saying that the truck driver was still in hospital unable to be interviewed, today this update from the Mail says witnesses heard him comment at the scene.

Local news bulletins have been naming the 19-year old driver this morning. It must be of public interest.

It's tragic, for all concerned. If he'd held his DL for 5 days, then he was OK to drive. Yeah, inexperienced, but were we all not inexperienced at some point?

Just incredibly sad, as was the Glasgow incident.

It is that simple. When you get in your car today drive you take responsibility for it's operation.
My car driven for social, domestic and pleasure purposes then yes, but not if it's a works vehicle with defects ignored by management and tech. See also verdict: Bath tipper lorry incident! sonar

Very tragic indeed.

The sentences will hopefully act as a deterrent as well as giving the guilty parties time to reflect on the horrific consequences of their actions.
