Teenage girl missing in Bristol....

Surprised no thread has started on this incident yet.
16-year-old girl gone missing from St George area of Bristol, about 3-4 miles from where I live. My football coach lives four doors up from the girl but doesn't know her. Says the police have been round twice asking questions.
No one (publicly) seems to have a clue what has happened to her. They searched Troopers Hill nature reserve yesterday and a group of 100+ people went out looking for her. Just hoping she's okay and it's all about an argument...... nothing more sinister, we hope.

I saw this on the news a couple of days back. She's been missing a while now hasn't she?
Yes, a week today. Walked out with just her phone, laptop and tablet apparently. One of two "missing" people from Bristol. The other is a guy from Stockwood who got involved in a fight in a Monaco nightclub, ran off and subsequently missed his flight home. Not been seen since....

Most women when living in close proximity to one another (as in the same house: mother, daughter, sister etc) send to sync up their periods. So it's not beyond the realms of possibility that he had worked this out due to his wife's nuttyness.
I bet he is the step-father.
Might be wrong but I think he's the real father and the woman is the stepmother. I bet he is the step-father.
Yep, confirmed on the BBC....

Another strange quote, this time from the girl's grandfather who says that the father won't be helping with the search due to his "frantic emotional state".

Saw the interview earlier. Looks very guilty.
Re the two arrests - is it beyond reason to say that the police, could arrest some people who seem a bit suspicious but who they don't actually think did it, to further monitor their real suspect's reaction?
They must use that as a tool?
I guess they could do but, and I suppose this is far fetched, what is stopping them saying they've arrested two people but not actually arresting anyone to elicit some reaction from whoever is guilty?Re the two arrests - is it beyond reason to say that the police, could arrest some people who seem a bit suspicious but who they don't actually think did it, to further monitor their real suspect's reaction?

Spotted this too on Twitter earlier from the Daily Mail online...

The uncle of missing teenager Becky Watts has spoken exclusively tonight to ITV News following the arrest of two people on suspicion of her alleged kidnap and murder.
Speaking on behalf of Becky's father Darren, to end speculation and rumour, Sam Galsworthy said no-one on his side of the family had any connection to her disappearance.
Reading a statement, sitting beside Becky's grandfather John and step-grandmother Denise, he said: "We want to make it absolutely clear that no member of Darren's side of the family are implicated in any way.
"Every family member who was part of our search for Rebecca still remains with us.
"We are aware that this is an ongoing investigation and cannot say anymore.
"We can't thank the public enough for their support. Please respect our privacy now as we process this information.
There's a few comments on the Avon and Somerset facebook page that claim family members have posted, then deleted, comments claiming a body has been found. Also, rumours the step brother and his girlfriend are the ones who've been arrested.Speaking on behalf of Becky's father Darren, to end speculation and rumour, Sam Galsworthy said no-one on his side of the family had any connection to her disappearance.

There's also someone on there called "TechInjection" who keeps on about where to look for the body. Seriously weird posts....

Police now saying that it's four males arrested and one female, as opposed to three and two. Two aged 29, three aged 23.....
Barton Hill is a traditionally rough area that benefited from £50 million of Government money in recent years. I seem to recall it was named as one of Britains's ten worst areas in terms of the state of the place, crime etc. Mixed, diverse community as mentioned above... streets are mainly rabbit hutch newish houses combined with some bloody tall tower blocks. Remember a young girl (Kylie ? ) murdered in a flat not far from where this latest incident happened. Perpetrator set fire to the flat IIRC to hide the crime.
Barton Court is a cul-de-sac, very close to the house in Cotton Mill Lane that they were searching yesterday. Really don't like the area at all and thankful that I live four or five miles away.

My money is on the Father.
He is doing the classic 'diversion tactic'. Indeed, where on earth did he glean the information about her being 'on'? I can't imagine any teenage girl discussing that with her Father? His request for wives and girlfriends to check partners underwear for blood would suggest he has some knowledge of that. Also, in these cases, it's pretty unheard of for the parents to even contemplate, let alone publicly declare they think the child is dead/raped etc-unless they know otherwise.
The white van thing is a red herring.
Finally, the possessions. Does anyone seriously think she left the house of her own accord without her purse and makeup-the father didn't think of these things 'cos he's a man.. The electronics went but they are things that could damn the fathers account of timings of her disappearance.
He's in it up to his neck.

So the father was faking it then ?

I didn't post anything that warranted being called a "fecking idiot" I just found something that he had said strange, that's all. I'm sure that in the same position, I'd be saying some strange stuff too and hopefully, I'll never have to find that out. Likewise, I didn't accuse him of anything that implicated him in the disappearance, I merely thought his turn of phrase was odd.
Wind your neck in!

Nathan Matthews, 28, has been charged with murder. He's Becky Watts' step-brother.
Shauna Hoare, 21, has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice. She is Matthews' girlfriend.
These two will appear at Bristol Mags Court tomorrow.
The other five (three of which are brothers, unrelated to Hoare and Matthews) remain in custody after the courts granted police another 24 hours to question them.
I'm assuming the three brothers are those named yesterday in the papers. Karl Demetrius is the partner of Jaydene ? and his twin brother and a third brother were also pictured yesterday. Why did two of the defendants (according to the Bristol Post) plead guilty to "assisting an offender, on the basis that they did not know that Becky's body was in the cases"?
How is it possible to be guilty of assisting an offender when you don't know that he's an offender?
Maybe Hoare and Matthews told them there were drugs in the case or something. That way, they'd be an offender without knowing there was someone in there. How is it possible to be guilty of assisting an offender when you don't know that he's an offender?
