The term 'hero' is often banded about by the media for people that real are just doing their day job.

This is what a real hero looks like.... Not sure why it's not on today's news program's.....

What must be remembered on these great days.....

For every VC awarded for outstanding Valour.... Many deserved VCs are not awarded.... Because these heroic deeds go unreported as there must be living witnesses that corroborate the actions. Unfortunately many a hero dies on the battlefield unrecognised, and many a heroic deed goes unwitnessed, even if the hero lives.

That used to happen every week inside my Commando comic! biggrin
Do you realise that the Commando comics were actually the stories of the real life medal winners (they weren't fiction, they were graphical accounts of real actions etc)?

If you knew that already, apologies in advance,.

Yes I did realise that most of them were real stories, My comment was just a joke. smile
good stuff, no worries then. I read them as a kid and just kind of assumed they were all just made up stories.
Only recently found out they weren't.

Would love to own them all again. Have they ever been reprinted do you know....?
