Looks like Joko Widodo is going to have his way.

The death sentence for trafficking hard class A drugs I don't have a problem with.

however leaving them waiting for 9 years and now executing as quickly he can more for what seem to be for political gains and kudos at home, rather than what they did, I do have issues with that.

And there is also the rumour that someone in the AFP (aussie feds) tipped off Bali plod in-spite of a no info unless death sentence is not going to be be sought rule.

Really?
If its 100% bang to rights and 100kgs of the stuff, how many people will that kill with OD's?

And I mean the hard core professional for a living cartel types will happy kill you, family and friends if you get in their way.

Thats trafficking.

I'm not quite 100% sure these aussies fall into that group though, also small fish dealers who are at the bottom chain or people who have done it under duress, never.

What would happen if you went there and unbeknownst to you, drugs were placed into your luggage and they were found by the police? I assume they won't be asking questions and that's you done?
x5 5.56mm rounds in the chest about 9 years later.

?? They knew what the consequences were going to be if/when they got caught. I don't agree with the death penalty, but its hard to have sympathy for them.
As the OP said "seem to be for political gains and kudos at home, rather than what they did, I do have issues with that" - that's the bit I have an issue with.
Exactly, Joko Widodo is pushing ahead, not because of what they did and have been sentenced legally to, but because he can.

well Mary Jane Veloso’s alleged recruiter has surrendered to the Philippine police

If Joko Widodo and his government execute Mary before the investigation against Christine Pasadilla aka Kristina Sergio is complete he is just a blood hungry murderer.
