I have a feeling this is going to be a lot worse than we know now, communications in Nepal are very fragile even normally!

Bloody hell more than 970 dead so far and there have been deaths in India, Tibet, Bangladesh and Mount Everest. Nepal is now quite popular with tourists so I wouldn't be surprised if people from Briton are amoung the dead frown

RIP to all those killed so far but I have a bad feeling the number will rise massively, and with the airport said to be damaged help is going to be delayed
The roads outside of Kathmandu are just dirt tracks in most cases, these are carved out of hillsides, I think getting relief to the rural areas will be very challenging, if not impossible for some time!

Got friends out there at the moment, they are registered on the Red Cross as missing, we are all checking the websites in case they register as "I'm Alive".

Can only echo Asterix's comment, beautiful country, amazing people. frown

Claire
Do you know where they would have been at the time of the quake?

6.7 is pretty much a full earthquake rather than a tremor, how horrid.

I guess "Ed Balls" day is now the priority!
