Oh no, they were ridiculous. The man is ridiculous.

He's shot himself in the foot though. Running for President was never serious, he has no chance of getting close to the nomination. It would have been good advertising for his TV stuff though. Now that's all been pulled and we should she less of The Donald once he's been dumped out of the race.

Anyway, back to Mr Ridiculous.......

It's tempting to say that Trump has made a mockery of the GOP and their quest for a 2016 nominee. But in fairness they were already a joke before he interjected himself.

As for immigration, he's totally wrong. We need immigrants and the people who come from the south are generally hard working and aspirational. The problem is the system, which is broken and which criminalizes them before they even get here. I came to America through the immigration system and even as a white, middle class European marrying a US citizen it was torturous and expensive. My visa took 9 months, the process was unnecessarily repetitive and the cost was over $5000. How does a poor Mexican who wants to come here to work and send home a few dollars to his family deal with that? The system needs to be overhauled (in fairness sensible people in all parties realize that) and streamlined. It needs to accept or deny people quickly and efficiently.

All morons like Trump and Ted Cruz do is seek to whip up anti immigrant racist sentiment that sits well with the bigoted right wing of the republican party. Fortunately attitudes and demographics are changing and moving away from them.

How do morons build and sustain multi-billion dollar businesses? Why would Cruz be racist against fellow hispanics?

If the demographic of the USA continues to change, and eventually becomes more Mexican than anglo-saxon, would that be a positive in your opinion?
Well, Trump inherited a huge property empire from his father and subsequently went bust a couple of times... Cruz is only half hispanic and as a Canadian born person is less of an American than the current president whose legitimacy he sought to question.

Native Americans were not white or Christian and if the demographic continues to change that's just fine. This country has always been a melting pot and was built on immigration. It's not the sole domain of straight white Christians, whatever Mike Huckabee may think.

he US immigration system is there to replicate the system they had at Ellis island and protect US jobs. Your Green card was obtained after showing you had no clear criminal past and no major diseases, plus having your innoculations up to date. For those coming in just to work they need to certify that they are suitably qualified and not undercutting the wages of a US citizen.

The issue the country has are that people aren't willing to work pretty hard for lowish pay when there is a decent welfare system and so that is where the system falls down - at that stage the US needs outside help. But there are TN visas and such like. There is clearly a need to improve the system but there still needs to be some selectivity in the process. The frustration many people feel is that the laws are not being enforced and that people who shouldn't be in the US are not being deported, and there seems to be an inadequate effort to stop people going through the process of approval, i.e. the borders are still not secure.
That's what I mean, we need workers who will do the jobs that Americans won't do and we need a way to accept or deny them quickly. I believe that a lot of people who are here illegally for exconomic reasons would be here legally if the system was simplified.

As far as my situation was concerned they couldn't reasonably refuse me once they had established that I was not a felon and that I would not be a financial drain on the country. They still took nearly 9 months from application to approval and asked for the same info on a number of occasions. I had to have an aids test which seemed a bit odd as they no longer refuse people with aids and I had to go to London for a medical which seemed a bit rich as they would not be providing me with any healthcare! And that for a K visa which is not technically an immigration visa!

The whole immigration system is broken and needs to be overhauled. I won't be fixed by scaremongering racists like Trump.

Only insofar as to the states having a screaming need for THRONGS of unskilled labour.
Please state your credentials for the increasingly stupid comments you are making on this thread.

But the odious DT seemed to be speaking facts.

Why the blubbing?
What facts do you think Trump is speaking? You think thousands of Mexicans are coming across the border and raping our women? Seriously? The hispanic community in the USA is generally very law abiding. That's why they can't find the undocumented, they blend in and don't get into trouble.

Even Geraldo Rivera, right wing Fox analyst and Trump sycophant has called him out over it.

I don't like DT anymore than the next person.

he is reported as saying
"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best," he said. "They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

so that is 7 points.

so if the rapist thing isn't true (I have no idea, or interest in researching this, that makes 6 of 7 points seem to have some basis in fact

why not answer the question I posted where a poster equated the comments with xenophobia?
Of course the criminal gangs need to be dealt with and the Mexican government needs to be a part of that. But the vast majority of people crossing are desperate people risking their lives to cross a border so that they can make a few dollars to send home to their impoverished kinfolk. They commit very little crime, commit very little if any rape and don't carry drugs apart from those that are coming for the purpose of transporting drugs, which is very few. Most of them have one big problem, they are starving, which makes them a very motivated workforce.

I live a very long way from the southern border but just about every person I see tending lawns or framing houses or roofing or painting or landscaping or doing countless other jobs is hispanic. They work bloody hard and do the jobs that need doing and we need them to do those jobs. We need to make it easier for them to come here and do it legally rather than concentrating on building walls or fences to appease the paranoia of the rabid right.

It looks like Macy's are now also seriously considering "severing ties" with The Donald after 700,000 customers signed a petition. I think they're pretty much the only place you can buy his crappy ties and shirts so that won't please him. Of course he'll threaten to "sue" them as he is threatening to "sue" NBC. What a total arse. His brand (that he described as the biggest brand in the world rolleyes) is becoming completely toxic. He reminds me in many ways of the late and completely unlamented Cap'n Bob Maxwell who also had a very high opinion of himself, used to bluster and bully and had aspirations of political grandeur. Does Trump have a boat?

Macy's have dumped him! NY mayor Bill De Blasio is also "looking into" the city's relationship with him and has said that Trump's values don't match up with those of the city. Farouk System, NBC, Televisa, Univision and now Macy's have binned him and the City he claims as his own is trying to distance itself from him. He's now so toxic that you can smell the bridges burning behind him.

How's this joke campaign going so far Don? rofl

ESPN have moved their golf tournament away from Trump's club in response to his comments.

Trump really has scored a huge own goal with his bigotry. He's essentially a pariah in a country that he, in his utterly deluded mind, felt he was best placed to lead.
