Can we talk about expensive Ferraris for a bit

The most expensive racing car ever sold last night £24.7million.
Looks like anyone who has 275 GTS 275 GTB 4 cam 250 Lussso etc simply cannot lose.
V12 1960's stunning looks.

That would be the thing....once the govt get their claws into something, watch the thresholds lower....ellroy said:
Never mind anything else, but by God it's a pretty looking thing isn't it?
Sadly, for me, Maranello doesn't do pretty anymore. Some cars are striking, but not pretty. A real shame when you see what they were capable of.
Looks are subjective but I agree, in the 60s the best looking cars ever were made, not only Ferrari, but later there are not many Ferrari I would personally define beautiful. Taking only in consideration the V8s the 458 had some pretty shapes, but overall felt incoherent to me. 488 is clearly uglier and more banal. I liked the 360 when it was first presented, it was a design homage to the past and the Dino compared to the 355 (ugly car if you ask me) but it was then ruined with the 430.Sadly, for me, Maranello doesn't do pretty anymore. Personally I'd say that Ferrari wise the 275 GTS Lussso is one of he most stunning cars available - and a close second the 275 GTB4. Oilchange said:

What's an 'old' pensioner? And anyway, an Escort Mexico at £20-£30k is hardly life changing compared to £20+million!
Descriptions today get to me, someone else above talking about 'Vintage' racers (this is a 'Classic' racing car).
The hack writing in the Telegraph says this Ferrari was driven by 'great British motor racers of the 1950s'.
'British racing drivers', please. We're not Americans!
and on topic, who has got something 'rare' hidden in their shed/garage?
Don't know, first words into my head and thus onto the web I suppose.
£20k might not be life changing to me or you but to an old age fellow with only a few bob to live on it would be harsh to have to pay a chunk to the taxman. That was my point.

The day when you get a £20k tax bill and don't even flinch Iis something I imagine would at he very least annoy the very very vast population. To some £20k could be more than their whole life savings others they net that monthly and then some. £20k might not be life changing to me or you but to an old age fellow with only a few bob to live on it would be harsh to have to pay a chunk to the taxman.
