2 explosions according to another source. I'm guessing quite a busy airport to.

Crazy, hope that the security forces have it under control now.

Stills pics showing incredible damage and Kalashnikov on floor. Security at this, the largest airport in Turkey, is top notch due to the numbers that pass through it. Amazing how they can get through security when carrying a large gun even though they'd not reached controls. But then people carry such large baggage.

Could just about seal Turkey's fate as tourist destination.

Plenty do, perhaps the numbers have dropped but it is still a popular destination.

Its worrying what people can carry without looking suspicious:

Do we need to guess who the culprits will be?

This will be the final nail in the coffin.

Shame as it's a beautiful country.

My neighbours are due back from there on Thursday.

My fiancee's old manager is trying to buy a house over there.

Ataturk airport in Istanbul has two sets of security to get through. They initially screen *everybody* arriving, as they come through the door, and then later screen passengers again before boarding. I guess this attack has been on the outer (initial) point of entry.

Bookings down by 40% so 60% would disagree. I just flew back 3 days ago. Turkish coasts are safe.
