On day one of the Nottinghill bash, children's day as it happens, the following crime figures were recorded.

Today, the joviality has been in full swing

I don't ever remember packing a blade when I took my kids out. Isn't it time somebody stood up for local residents and stopped this excuse for widespread criminality. It's gone way beyond 'celebration' now

105 arrests in 'families day'. Four serious stabbings. That's just scratching the surface. It's sucked up every Police resource, with many Officers having their few rest days cancelled (again).
Expected to be much worse today. Glastonbury is a tea party in comparison.

The final arrest total for just yesterday was 156. 88 so far today and another 26 knives seized. Crazy

Arrests won't reflect criminal offences. There simply isn't enough Officers to deal with them all.

Sorry, it just every year we get all this knee-jerk stuff and it's all a bit tiresome. I've been hearing it since 1989.

It tends to be from people who (i) have never been or (ii) have got a pile of cash and have just moved in and are trying to stop it.

None of whom seem to want to join in.

The veiled racism in the previous threads just made me thing of Brexit voters.
I don't think the Police Officers trying to hold some stabbed youths guts in or containing the violence are thinking about Brexit. They're just cleaning up the mess working 20hr days, because people are too scared to address the massive issues that exist.

Did that happen this year?
Multiple stabbings again.

As for sensationalist first post. It was quoting facts. As a Police Officer I am getting first hand views from the front.

No idea what the pathetic attempt to somehow bring Brexit into the thread was supposed to achieve

Easy to say when you're not the one trying to contain the violence and living in the six foot bubble around you.

15 stabbings (that have been reported) this year. Just your typical Saturday night out.

Worryingly, it's something I've heard from pretty much every policeman/woman I've ever met. They all seem to enjoy the adrenaline rush of the physical stuff.
What an absolute load of tosh.

Im sure the Officers now on anti-viral drugs having been bitten and spat on during the weekend absolutely love being in a ruck.

Getting the st kicked out of you is so much fun. Not least because you then get tin foil tossers like David Ball coming on line spouting drivel about how 'brutal' you are.

It was such a benign environment, the Met Police Fed have asked for an urgent review. They must be just making it up.

A 'normal' weekend does not have every resource the Met and surrounding Forces can muster put into one small area to contain and prevent violence.

A 'normal' weekend does not entail cancelling the days off of all staff.

A 'normal weekend does nor require control centres and incident rooms.

It's laughable that some are trying to portray the 'Carnival' as no different than a Saturday night.
