I think that people like you forget that we live in a democracy. The people were promised a Referendum by a party. That party then won the election. It kept its promise, the people were given months to get to grips with the facts. Millions were spent on our behalf on a handy information booklet extolling the virtues of staying in. Threats were issued if we dared to vote out. Armageddon was predicted. And the people voted out. Hey, that is democracy. Dress it up all you like, you can make every effort to disguise your political aggression, to appear reasonable, to appear willing to debate openly, but people like you are genuinely dangerous. You think you know better than the rest, you think your opinions are the ones that should win out regardless of what the majority say.
You are part of a snearing elite that talks down to, insults and generally ignores the opinions and fears of ordinary people, right up until the point when you use "your concern for their future" as justification for insisting that your views should prevail despite the peoples choice.
The people who voted leave are not bigots or racists or fascists. The fascists are those who do not accept democratic outcomes and who seem determined to try to impose their own views by any means possible.
Well said.
I'll second that.
Thirded biggrin
Fourthed
(keep it going, could get interesting!) hehe
Fithed.......but doubt it will influence the remoaners in any way whatsoever.
Very eloquent summation - Sixthed!
Seventhed if such a word exists
Yeah damn right. I love this place.
Wot they all said!
Tenthed.
Eleventhedddd. We need to keep down the communist-leaning mentality which involves ignoring the will of the people. After all, MP's are really civil servants to do our will, not the other way around. I think some are getting above their station.
What a load of rubbish.

And it isn't Labour voters that have a problem with immigrants.

Indeed, wasn't it a labour voting woman who confronted Gormless Clown over her concerns about the effect immigration was having on her home town, Gormless called her a bigot, when he thought his microphone had been turned off. And labour supporters (The correct term is a thicket of labour supporters) still think that only the tories can be labelled as the nasty party. It is a funny old world.
so neither of you two voted tory because they pledged to crack down on immigration prior to last 2 elections?

Pretty sure Labour have never been so anti-foreigners

Why did the Labour party feel the need to cast it in stone? "Controls on immigration" being one of the now famous pledges on the "Ed Stone"

Ed said it would be placed into the Downing Street Rose Garden "as a reminder of our duty to keep Labour's promises"
Huge difference between "controls on immigration" and massively reducing immigration as the Tories promised in 2010 and 2015.

Just pointing out your hypocrisy. I am not a particular fan of the tories either, but have been around long enough to realize, that bad as they can be, they have never approached the utter shambolic disaster area that the labour party represents for the UK and it always, always does.
Fortunately many in the UK also now realize this. I vote in a way which I hope does everything possible to keep disastrous labour away from the keys to No10 as possible. The UK could not survive another labour government.
Have you heard about Brexit?

Was that Labour's fault?

Do you have a point to make?

Was it anyone's 'fault' or just the wishes of the majority of the electorate who bothered to vote?
Who's idea was the referendum?

Labour?

No, Labour don't care about the wishes of the electorate, that's perfectly clear.

Why do you think listening to the voting public is a bad thing?

The Tories should have either decided to leave or not, rather than asking the plebs.

Lefty calling the people "plebs" as an insult. Brilliant.
That's the language the Tories would have used when trying to decide about the referendum.

The one the police made up stories about?
Would that be why he lost his libel trial and now has a massive legal bill to pay?

An enquiry has begun into Boris's "management" of the Olympics site, including pretty much giving the stadium to West Ham.

Well the LibDems are going very anti-brexit. Last time they got punished for the coalition, I doubt that will happen this time.

Let's get it right ffs, the highest turnout for an election or referendum in the UK since universal suffrage was Scotland 2014 at 84.6%.

But 72% is still high. And those who don't vote, don't count. Literally.
Well that's what it says in The Torygraph.
