But how is a helmet different? There are signs to remove them in banks and post offices for security reasons, why not any other face coverings too?
Just to be clear, I don't care what people wear or not or whatever religion they choose to believe in, as long as they don't try to force it upon others.
I main reason I posted the poll was due to the large majority, usually votes are closer to 50/50

I used to see it first hand, when I lived in Peterborough years ago it was on the edge of a large community/area of Muslims.
It didn't bother me at all, but there were shops where you were definitely not felt to be welcome, and quite often heard about things being thrown out of windows at you if you walked down some of the streets.
One moment that does spring to mind is when my Dad's wife went into one of their shops for some material.
She is a muslim from Morocco, they've been married 10 years since he met her when living in Spain.
She had been in the shop for ages, and Dad was in a hurry so went in to see what the problem was.
When he walked in his wife was just about to pay, as soon as the shopkeep saw she was with my Dad he pulled the material off the counter and said it wasn't for sale any more!
Its things like that that really make you wonder just how much do they want to integrate with the country they live in, or do they really prefer to just stay in their own little communities pretending they are elsewhere?

It is difficult to throw the term bigot, racist or simply 'intolerant' monikers around when the critics of Islam (or just plain haters) will quite happily host dinner with people of any skin colour, sexuality or any other faith.
Like I said, at some point we're going to need to accept 'islamaphobia' for what it actually is.
NOT racist for starters and not 'intolerant' in the modern (wide) meaning, and not bigoted either.
Just a singular concern amongst many about a religion into culture that isn't widely welcomed in Western society.
'Ban the Burka' is NOT a face covering issue, it is an Islam issue.
Heads in sand to say otherwise.
I think that sums it up very well. People are far too quick these days to throw around the racist card, when they are clearly not.Like I said, at some point we're going to need to accept 'islamaphobia' for what it actually is.

The race is irrelevant, its the beliefs and actions that cause others to get blown up or whatever that is what people have a problem with
