Anyone seen this?

The makers (Richard Curtis and friends) have apologised, but sometimes an apology isn't enough.

Unbelievable.

It's publicising the fact that the Greens are mentally deficient.

I actually lol'd at that. Shirley it's a wind up, it has to be?
A wind up by who?

Massively misjudging the public mood then claiming it's a publicity stunt is not a wind up.

Interesting commentary here:
http://www.openrightsgroup.org/blog/2010/1010s-boo...

Suggests that the whole thing might be a "false flag" campaign.

We are all talking about it, after all...

10:10 website said:
Today we put up a mini-movie about 10:10 and climate change called 'No Pressure’.

With climate change becoming increasingly threatening, and decreasingly talked about in the media, we wanted to find a way to bring this critical issue back into the headlines whilst making people laugh. We were therefore delighted when Britain's leading comedy writer, Richard Curtis - writer of Blackadder, Four Weddings, Notting Hill and many others – agreed to write a short film for the 10:10 campaign. Many people found the resulting film extremely funny, but unfortunately some didn't and we sincerely apologise to anybody we have offended.

As a result of these concerns we've taken it off our website. We won't be making any attempt to censor or remove other versions currently in circulation on the internet.

We'd like to thank the 50+ film professionals and 40+ actors and extras and who gave their time and equipment to the film for free. We greatly value your contributions and the tremendous enthusiasm and professionalism you brought to the project.

At 10:10 we're all about trying new and creative ways of getting people to take action on climate change. Unfortunately in this instance we missed the mark. Oh well, we live and learn.

Onwards and upwards,
You know when someone who is supposed to apologise to you instead says "I'm sorry if you feel like that..." instead of actually apologising?

The arrogance of this is unbeliveable. Showed it to the other half and had to spend 10 minutes proving it wasn't a hoax as she just didn't believe it was real.

I agree with above though. Sounds yet again like one of thoise "I'll say/do/threaten to do/make a film so shocking that although I'll have to retract or cancel, the point has been made and is being reported and debated" type stunts. Just like Pastor Knob-end of Spacktardsville, FL from last month.
It seems like a badly done spoof.

Is the point that if you aren't willing to join the crusade then you deserve to die more than any of the 300,000 er, victims(?) of climate change?

Seems they've managed to alienate quite a few folks in the green movement as well - 350.org have issued a press release denouncing the video and withdrawing their support from any 10:10 initiative.

We respect 10:10's previous work to encourage companies, schools, and churches to voluntarily cut their carbon emissions 10%. Upon seeing the video, however, we have informed 10:10 that we can no longer remain partners on 10/10/10 or any other initiative.
Oops.
hehe

We now need to get Richard Curtis banned from film making and I will be very happy.

I thought one of the most revealing comments in her Guardian interview posted earlier (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=314UCvMmgrU) an throwaway apparently unimportant remark that sums up these peoples atitudes to us all, came at around the 3 minute mark.

"...and the whole individualistic, get in your little car on your own and sit in a traffic jam for two hours and then go to a pointless job...."
Which pays the tax, buys the service or product, which pays for you to critisize me. You fking hypocrite.

We should all jack in our jobs. Lets see how sustainable that is.

Absolutely no suprise to see Brighton listed at the end of that video. The place is crawling with Eco-fascists and other yoghurt-knitting mentalists.
It's a soap dodgers paradise.
