This year we're looking at spending a bit more than we usually would on a 'break' to celebrate promotions and a few other things.

We don't use credit cards but I've just applied for a Tesco 0% on purchases card and was accepted with a £3,200 credit limit. Moneysavingsupermarket advised this was the best (and we'll get Clubcard points and therefore Virgin Airmiles from it)

It'll be paid off in a few months but could do with £5k as a limit and I'm sure this would be possible if they took Mrs AB's income into account.

Do such things exist?

That's an option but makes it difficult when booking online.

I've not checked but I'm sure booking two single holidays would be more expensive than booking for both of us at the same time?

Although perhaps if we called them they could split it.

Good idea, I'll give them a ring. I just assumed what they gave me from the start was based on salary. Suppose it's not set in stone.

Decent enough salary, just don't have access to £5-7k cash at the moment.

I have two cards and the combined limit is more than my net salary!
That would undoubtedly cover our holiday.

Assume that has been built up over time though?

We have no history of cards/loans and paying it back unfortunately.

It's not a huge problem, we just wanted to spend a little more than we have access to at the moment as we're currently refurbishing a house amongst other things.
