Forex Robots for personal trading

I have been doing some reading into the black art of using a forex robot for personal forext trading as a scalper and am interested in anyone here's experiences and anecdotes and even if they work?!

I was thinking (after doing the research, doing some runs with test accounts etc) of setting one up with a few hundred euro's in the account and just leave it scalping on a virtual server for a month on metatrader.

i have access to scripting and debugging knowledge, virtual servers and a micro trading account so in those immortal words, what could go wrong!
