A year and a half of reasonable gains on 3 different ISAs wiped out over the weekend.

One of them that had returned 14% is down to a mere 3% return. The other two bought in April are in the minuses.

Obviously the world wide stock crashes. Gulp!

Had a PEP years ago that did well for 4 years then by the 5th year it was worth 2/3 of the original amount invested and stayed that way for many years.

Needed the cash in the end.

As for ISA allowances if I had forseen this and had cashed the lot in would I be able to reinvest the ISA allowance and the profit all tax free.

Just hope my fund managers are clever.

I'm useless at all this. I sold my oil stocks just before the Gulf War. They then went up 500%

One of my ISAs is with Woodford. Will he be doing clever stuff or did his involvement stop after initially investing my money.

I did ask earlier.

I have a Neil Woodford fund bought in April. Was doing very well but all the gains have now been lost and I now have less than I put in.

I realise it should do well in the long term but as his quote above speaks about fully expecting the China crash, how come I've just lost a load of money.

Do the managers continue to look after these funds after they are bought or do they just invest your money at the beginning and then just leave it?
