Halifax Phone Call

So I just had a phone call from Halifax. Withheld number. The guy I spoke to new my name, the details of my loan I have with them and where my branch was. I obviously didn't give any other details but he wanted me to pop into the branch for a meeting on how the can reduce my interest rates on my loan.

I made an appointment for a Saturday afternoon. Would this be a waste of time going to?

Anyone else ever had a call like this?

This is what I was expecting. Banks are a business at the end of the day so I wouldn't expect them to phone me to help me out whilst not having anything in it for themselves.

I will probably go though as it may be mutually beneficial. If they want to offer me a higher loan at a lower rate then I could use the extra to pay my credit card off and be better off monthly.

Anyway, the appointment is't until may 21st so if I remember I'll come back and conclude the thread. Thanks all.
