Hi all.

Looking for advice/experience of remortgaging a property whilst living outside of the country.
Due to my wife's career, we find ourselves overseas (still part of the U.K.) and I am just wondering where I stand with this?

We have done enough work to one house to make it gain 'value' which would affect the LTV by quite a large amount.
I am open to borrowing more against that house, or even if we don't borrow more, I'd like to remortgage at the end of my 2 year deal as I believe a better rate will be secured.

There's also a BTL which we'd like to get our money out of. Am I right in saying it's 6 months of ownership before any borrowing against a property is possible? And as per above, not being in mainland U.K. - would that be a problem?

Thanks in advance, Stuart.

Where are you?

Where are you employed? (You mentioned having to move for your Wife's career)

What currency are you and your wife paid in?

Is one of the properties a Residential property?

If so, whats happening with it currently?
I've emailed you smile
