Just had new windows fitted, but I think the sill is too narrow and I'm concerned they've bridged the drip gap with silicone sealant which will cause damp problems in the future.

Am I right to be concerned?

Are they the standard sizes? Any others in between?

Yeah, that's my concern.

Could it be raised in a future survey as an issue?

Thanks for all the replies chaps. Very helpful.

Here are some more pics which should answer some of the questions raised.

New from other angles

Downstairs, the new cills look different

How long have you had the new windows in Foxy? I would say my point about poor installation still stands.
The upstairs were installed last week. Downstairs have been in a few months.

The position in the reveal looks fine. Have they used different size sills (projection) on ground and first floor?
I don't think so. I think the upstairs windows are set further back for some reason.

looks to me like they have used a cappit board for a cill upstairs
is there a gap between the frame and cill like the downstairs??
I'm pretty sure they haven't used cappit.
Would more pics help?

Thanks spudler.

I think the frames are positioned correctly in the aperture but as you say a deeper cill should've been used.

My question is, will the lack of drip gap cause problems, or is it wrong?
