Upgrade bathroom
Discussion
Need to stick a shower in here. I'm thinking either
Replace the lot and do a top job.
Or
Install proper shower, new screen, replace and move bath, new flooring and tiling
Or
Install shower head running off the bath, install shower screen, new tiles and floor.
Using tradesmen. No DIY.
But may sell up in year or 2...
What do you think? Rough prices?

Why would the boxing cause an issue?
Im a bit confused at that, is is due to getting wet (then tile it) or the shower screen not being big enough?
bigger shower screens here:

mixer like this:

would tart it up fine.
I know nothing about these. How does this mixer work? Im a bit confused at that, is is due to getting wet (then tile it) or the shower screen not being big enough?

Yes. and if lucky you may find one that has the fixed panel the same size as the raised tile. Then if you buy an extra long wiper, it may work.
But I suspect you will always have a sealing issue, as you will not be installing the bath shower screen as it is intended.
The lowest cost option to do this correctly, would be to remove the existing bath, remove the box, assuming you have a combi boiler, take the feeds from the bath hot and cold, chase the pipes into the wall and set them for a surface mount bar mixer, refit bath against wall, re-tile, fit mixer, fit bath shower screen.
Okay I'll suggest it to the plumberBut I suspect you will always have a sealing issue, as you will not be installing the bath shower screen as it is intended.
