I'm after a few low profile LED downlighters for my posh shed build. In total they need to be a maximum of 31mm thick - to fit under 12.5mm plasterboard & 19mm battens and to minimise any headroom reduction. I've seen some on ebay whick look exactly what I'm after apart from the LED driver is thicker than 19mm so won't fit behind the plasterboard. I assume I could remove the supplied LED driver and use one larger driver for all lights??

Low profile LED 1

Low profile LED 2

I realise they might not be the best quality but I'm struggling to find any alternatives.

Any ideas??

Cheers

Howabout doing some linear strips instead of those horrible things? You could surface mount or route and recess some aluminium profiles which house LED tape. For an interesting feature you could mount them all at different angles offset from each other rather than in rows?
Hi Guy,

I'm open to suggestions.
The living room part of the shed is 2.7m x 3.7m with French doors at one end. Surface mounted in a rectangle shape say 3.0x2.0m would look good or as you say set at different angles. Have also seen on your site the aluminium corner sections - these would look good along the two 3.7m length walls. White diming LEDS.

Workshop part is 3.4m x 3.7m with two 600x1200mm windows at one end. The room needs to be well illuminated. How many LEDs and where would you recommend.

If you can reply here or via email it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Guy,

I've had a look at your site.
For the workshop side, I'm thinking a couple of 600x600 LED panels flush mounted into the plasterboard. Including the plasterboard there is 31mm depth to play with. Was planning to mount the LED driver near the fusebox tucked away in a cupboard.

The living area side, I'll probably keep in simple with a 3000mm x 2000mm rectangular strip LEDs either surface mounted in the 7mm deep profile of the corner type as you suggested. White light dimmable.

Can you give me an idea of costs.
Thanks

Russ

Hi Guy,

Can you give me an idea of the costs and leadtime for the bits - I need to the electrician started.
