Hi all,

Off to get some quotes at the weekend to have lounge,stairs,landing and bedrooms x 3 carpeted.

I'm fairly sure that as soon as I walk in the showroom with the OH in tow the salesperson will be thinking of booking their next holiday with the commission

Carpet will be generic middle of the range stuff, any tips on how I can keep costs down, companies to recommend etc?

Regarding underlay, that will need replacing as its pretty old and probably knackered.

Closest big city is Brummistan, I would think there must be some decent Indies floating about. I did have a guy come from Carpetright to measure up and give some estimates but he seemed to be plucking figures out of thin air. Our lounge is 35ft by 12ft and he seemed to randomly add things left right and centre
