Securing broken stone gate post...
Discussion
Got a bit of bother with one of our stone gate posts. Although still standing, it's actually in two pieces.
There is a crack running straight through the base of the stone (directly where the bottom hinge is on the gate).
I'm thinking of securing the top part of the post to the square millstone that sits next to it. Possibly using a couple of 1000mm M12/M16 thread bars.
Is there any other way of securing it? Don't really want to take it off its "base" if I can help it.
