I'm about to cut down a large Ash tree.

Before I chop it into logs I wondered if it had a timber value - the main trunk is perhaps 30" diameter and 12' high before splitting into smaller branches.

Or how much would it cost to get it cut into 3" planks to make a table with.

It's in the front and I have the space and a trailer etc

Mine appears to be a similar size to that pictured above.

I'm not expecting to get rich - but it is a large lump and is easy to load onto my trailer as I have a telehandler on site.

Just seems a shame to burn it.

If it's 30" in diameter it must be more than 12' high !
That's the main trunk size - the tree is probably 50'+ with a huge spread, it's a fabulous tree but it is within 3m of my house and it's roots have lifted the garage floor.
