Hi All,

I'm thinking of building a utility area in the garage which also houses my car.

I don't really want to drill a hole through the wall so was thinking condenser and will buy a decent brand such as Bosch.

If I empty the condenser drawer after every use, will this avoid the garage being damp?

There are some reviews which say only to use a vented product, however these are quite old reviews now and technology moves on.

My garage has adequate ventilation i.e. there are gaps around the garage door.

So the question:

Is my car safe in a garage with a condenser tumble dryer within 2 meters of a car?

Thanks in advance

Hmmm, from AO.com and a Bosch Classixx vented model:

Can this be installed in a garage . Is there an ambient temperature requirement for the same?

Hello P,
I'm afraid this can't be placed in an unheated garage as the low temperatures Winter can bring could serve to freeze any residual water inside the machine. Then, as it thaws and re-freezes, this could stretch and strain the appliance, causing damage and possibly breaking the appliance altogether.
If this was to happen, you wouldn't be covered under warranty for any repairs or replacements required.
I hope this helps you out and thanks for getting in touch with us.

I would assume condensed would have the same issue with the water drawer

It seems it's possible to research anything too much

Vented is cheaper and less parts to go wrong, however having a pipe to an exterior wall with freezing conditions outside provides a freezing air link inside the dryer... maybe

Condensed dryer doesn't need a hole in the wall and I could just not use it when its <5 degrees C and unplug it.

Either way, warranties don't cover the devices outside the home it seems and it's going in the garage

Thanks for the responses - Black Friday buying :-)

Bought a Bosch Classixx condenser dryer, hopefully I won't have rainbows in the garage :-)
