I appreciate that I'm new to this owning your own place malarky, but didnt realise I was that far out of reality when it came down to costs for things.
We need a new front and back door to the house.
Just been quoted £2860 for the two! Sheeet, I almost laid an egg when he told me and bless him, he thought I'd be chuffed with what he'd offered, I had in my head that it was going to be around £5-700 for them!
I assume I was well off the mark and the reality is doors do cost a fair whack then?

Guess it's the cost of living in reality eh...

Yep thought as much.
What did grate me somewhat was that I asked for a keyless lock on the front door so expected that to be a bit pricey, but because the back door has almost 35% glass, it's costing as much as the front with the gucci lock.

We're after compsite Georgian style with two small glass square windows at the top and 4 inset pannels and a yale keyless lock. Back door will be PVC with two inset pannels at the bottom and 35% glass with georgian sectional beading embedded in it to give the appearance of separate panes.

My under-estimation may have been down to not including a doorframe and fitting mind!
