Shed near power pole - how close?
Discussion
I intend to erect a shed in my garden and wondered how close to the private wooden power pole that feeds our property it can be sited. For clarity the overhead cables come to the pole and then down to the ground so the shed would not be under the overhead lines. Any help appreciated as no luck searching the web or from the local planning dept and booklet GS6 also seems unhelpful.
Thanks in advance

Find where the cable runs once it enters the ground, and don't put it on that in case there is a fault at a later date. If the cables leading to the pole are insulated( which I am certain they are), then leave enough room to be reasonable to enable acces up the pole for a couple of burly blokes and a ladder. I'm also assuming there isn't a pole mounted transformer on it?
That sounds sensible but is this based on any legislation or guideline, I'am sure there must be something somewhere and knowing that ignorance is no defence I'd like something to refer to if questioned.Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
