I will be relaying my lawn next weekend and fancy putting in a proper pop-up sprinkler system whilst the soil is loose from rotavating. garden is roughly 200m^2 (size and shape of a tennis court).

Looking at getting 3 of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rain-Bird-Pop-Up-Irrigatio...

Can't work out what pipe and connectors I would need though frown

The line drawing in that link shows you the items you need? - pipe, tee or elbow, swing joint, coupler, more pipe (different type).

The pipe appears to be pvc schedule 40 and pvc schedule 80.

Bit more hardcore that the more flexible pipe used in mine!
Bugger that, was going to just lay flexi piping, it comes with this connection so assume might be able to get an adapter to fit: ¾" female thread

Though as I am rotavating, might be able to put the PVC in quite easily an it should be cheapish...

To cut a neat hole in the pipe where the saddle (for the tee to go to the sprinkler) fits.
I guess with these I wont need that: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000NUWZ7S/ref=...

Going with Gardena now, they seem to look ok and all the bits are on Amazon biggrin

Will see how it goes, and as you say we can always do something from the sides...

This is mine (ignore the fence, it is being worked on right now, and we also now have a brick wall up to the end of the second broken panel). Should be able to get away with three down the middle. We are also putting in some stuff for the beds so hopefully will all work out ok smile
