Mortgage with new job

I'm in the process of selling my current house - survey has just been done, no problems, so should be completed in the next few weeks.

Out of the blue I got a call earlier this week about a new job, decent salary increase and much better career wise.

Will I be able to get a mortgage immediately after starting a new job, or will I have to wait - and if so, how long?
