Garden/Shrub advice

I've been planting a few shrubs in a border around my back garden before I spread some decorative stone, they have been in for around 7 weeks or so however the right hand side of the garden seem to be struggling,

The top row of pics are the right side, the bottom row is the left, they where planted at the same time using the same method,





What's wrong?

Every time anyone mentions shrubs that's the first thing that comes to mind!

The ones that are struggling do get a lot more sun
