Heat pump pricing

We're pricing up doing a barn conversion and I've been looking at ground source heat pumps. Obviously for these rather a lot of piping needs to be buried. Is there any reason this piping couldn't be buried early on in our project, when I'm likely to have a big digger on site, then connected up to the pump towards the end of the build? Probably many months later.

I couldn't see a reason why not, but I know next to bugger all about them.
